Snail Creeper Vine
Vigna caracalla
Sometimes called Phaseolus caracalla

This Snail Creeper DOES NOT attract snails. It is called this after the
round curly shape of flowers. The flower is shaped like a corkscrew.

These seeds are not commonly available. They are organically grown. The flowers of this lovely, unusual flower are all purple/white.
This vine is deciduous where I live on the south eastern coast of Australia. it also grows well in more tropical areas.

The Snail Creeper Vine is a non-invasive climber and has soft green leaves. It has a soft, delicate appearance. The perfume of the flower is a divine fragrance and quite strong, especially in the evenings. I have mine growing over a doorway so I can enjoy the fragrance.

My vine was grown from a seed and it grows 2 - 3 metres high. It twines itself around wire, lattice or fences and so needs support to grow on. It is organically grown.

It is late starting in the year with leaves appearing in November and lasting through till about August when it loses its leaves for 3 months (Victorian weather). Trim then if needed.

Once established, needs little water, even in a drought.

Sometimes I have a few plants for sale, grown from cuttings or seeds.

This pretty pink trumpet flower blossoms on a strong vine. It is evergreen and needs little water once established. Good for drought conditions. It also comes in a variegated leaf form and white flower.

It looks lovely growing over a trellis or pergola or wandering up through a tree.

Seeds take 1 to 3 weeks to germinate. Seeds can be sown directly where it is to grow or grow in seed raising mix.

In my garden it rarely gets watered yet thrives. Mine is facing north & flowers profusely.
