Lacy Bantams
Recently I bought one dozen fertile eggs. They were from Queensland which is about 3000 Kilometres away from where we live. I had them express posted to me. We had the incubator ready, so the next day, popped them in there and hoped for a few lovely chickens.
The breeds I purchased were Silver laced Wyandotte Bantams and Silver Penciled Bantams. These breeds are difficult to get in the large size of poultry and much more difficult to get in bantam size. Although I don't like breeding in the autumn, I thought I would give it a go.

Healing Eggs with a Crystal Pendulum
When the eggs arrived I held a crystal pendulum over each egg to see if it was healthy. Only one needed a lot of healing and set the pendulum to swinging vigorously.
The eggs in the incubator were lovely and warm at 37.9 degrees. After a week I 'candled' them. This is a process where you hold the egg up to a bright torch in a darkened room. You can see through the shell if there is the beginning of a chicken inside it.
Two eggs were empty.
So then there were 10 eggs.
I surrounded the eggs with crystals and shungite to strengthen the chicks.

Come Day 21 and we visited the incubator to find 4 eggs pipping. The chicks had started to break out of the eggs. 2 hours later there were our first chickens. It is always exciting to see these little bedraggled babies that have never been seen by anyone else in the world. Once they were dry they looked so sweet.
Chickens Living and Dying
Then there were 4 chicks.
A few hours later another chick hatched.
And then there were 5.
Over night another chicken hatched.
And then there were 6.
Two of one variety and four of the other. However the last chick was not very strong and overnight it departed this world.
And then there were 5.
The Flowerpot Hen
We had a surrogate mother waiting the arrival of the chicks - The Flowerpot Hen She had been sitting in a flowerpot, yes, you read correctly, a flowerpot right outside our back door. .
I had prepared the chicken coop for her and her babies. We settled her in then gave her the chickens. On what bliss. She took to them like a cat to milk. They snuggled into the fluffy down under her wings.
It just so happened that the weather turned cold and rainy. Through the night, one of these precious chickens got cold, so cold that it felt the kiss of death and did not recover.
And then there were 4.
Numbers were shrinking. None of the other eggs had hatched and I could see my baby chickens disappearing. I went out a couple of hours later and there was yet another chicken stretched out only a minute or so from death. I panicked. It's legs barely moved, its neck was bent backwards, its wings were spread out and up. From our time on the farm over the years and caring for countless animals, I knew that when an animal has its neck bent back there was nothing much you could do.
Healing Chicks with Rescue Remedy, Shungite and Crystal Healing
I had learned a lot of healing modalities since those days. I brought the chick inside, gave it some very strong Rescue Remedy, did a crystal healing over it and laid it back in the warmth of the incubator on a piece of shungite. Shungite has some amazing healing properties in it. An hour later I went to check it, expecting it would either be dead or have no change. To my utter amazement, the chick was up and walking around and cheeping at the top of its voice.
And still there were 4
Later that evening we placed the resurrected chicken back with its Mum. The next morning
There were still 4
Now we will have to wait and see if we have hens or roosters.
Please, oh please, let them be hens.
